As a lifelong listmaker, I found mindmapping did not come naturally to me. I initially tried it at the urging of a pal numerous years ago, however I kept lacking space and my notes would run the edge of the paper. It also provided me a major case of writer’s cramp, so I quit on mind mapping for a couple of years.

Then I heard about some free mindmapping software application readily available on the Internet, so I surfed around a bit up until I discovered and tried a couple. This was marginally much better, but insufficient to convert me from my lists.

Then, simply a couple of months ago, I found a various piece of mind mapping software application that changed whatever for me. Mindmapping deal with a single concept, that you have a major subject recognized in the center and several branches and sub-branches originating from that. The maps can be as big and complex as you like, or as simple. But the software is not all produced equivalent, so you need to search a bit to find one that works for you.

Here’s what made the difference for me. I was working on a plan to create an audio CD to sell on Amazon, and there was rather a list of things to do, including creating the product itself, finding someone to create the graphics bundle, get it made by CreateSpace and listed for sale on Amazon, promote it and send traffic to its page. Oh yes, and another little thing: I had to apply to the IRS for a tax number due to the fact that I do not live in the U.S

. Now if I had actually made my typical lists for this, I would have checked off the product about applying to the IRS, and then I would have been stuck waiting on their reply. However when I laid everything out on a basic mindmap, it was clear to me that while I waited, there were a lot more items I could finish, so by the time I got my tax number everything else was ready and I might get my CD up there making money for me.

That’s when I became a convert, and since then I’ve ended up being map pleased. I utilized my mindmapping software application to make my company prepare for this year, to release my month-to-month Wilkie Webinar program, to make notes while listening to teleseminars, to record new ideas I wasn’t rather ready to work on so that they wouldn’t get away, and so far more.

If you have not tried mindmapping, I prompt you to explore the software application that’s readily available and make a couple of maps. I forecast you’ll become as happily addicted as I have! Learn more about Free Startup Tool here.
